December in Ghana tour is specially curated around the Afro-Future festival which celebrate Africa’s diverse culture and the vibrant work of African creatives and entrepreneurs. The festival is designed to elevate and highlight the thrilling and thriving millennial talents from and within Africa. The festival put Africa culture on display from music, food, dance, art and fashion drawing people from all over the world together in Ghana to experience the true spirit of African’s culture. Afro-Future festival will immerse you in the tapestry of African traditions like Afrobeats and highlife music, thrilling you to captivating exhibitions of African art and dresses. The festival is billed to have cultural installations that emphasize the richness and diversity of African culture. Afro-future has a lot to offer visitors through live music concerts, fashion presentations, art exhibitions and a variety of African food and drinks. On this tour we have diligently curated experiences to ensure you get a well-rounded and culturally enhanced visit in Ghana during the holiday season. Participants on this tour will engage in tree planting in Accra to help combat the effect of global warming due to climate change. Our cultural expert guides will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your scheduled accommodation where you will be welcomed with giant African drums beating from the heart of Mother Africa, and while being thrilled to the vibrant sounds of the drums, you will be served Ghana’s best cocktails and local drinks. Today we are officially starting our journey, and we will begin by exploring the century old city of Accra and visit fascinating landmarks like colonial architectures and modern-day skyscraper’s, which depict the people’s resilience for transforming Accra to metropolis.
W.E.B Du Bois center will be our first destination and learn about one of the great pioneers who dedicated his life to educate the Black race. He settled in Ghana around the year 1961 to help his friend Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and educate Ghanaians about various aspects of Black history and provide crucial overall knowledge on race and the plight of black Americans. The center, which was his home until his death in 1963, is now the final resting place for the giant Pan-Africanist and a museum for his immense work as a Pan-Africanist where people and students come and learn about his legacy.
We will journey through this bustling city to Independence or Black Star Square which serves as a symbolic monument for Ghana freedom from colonial rule and the grounds hold major national events like the independence celebration and most national gatherings. We will drive through the oldest community in Accra; Jamestown, which was formed around the British Jamestown Fort built in 1673 for the trade of gold and slaves. It also served as a prison where Ghana’s first president Kwame Nkrumah was imprisoned from 1950 to 1951 before winning the election. We will then drive through Ghana’s presidential palace “Flagstaff House” and explore the architectural prowess of modern-day Ghana. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Museum - This museum is dedicated to the life and legacy of one of African great son’s and a pan Africanist who became the first president of Ghana. The museum and mausoleum are surrounded by lush greenery of trees planted by dignitaries like Nelson Mandela of South Africa, who visited the park in the past, The park houses the remains as the final resting place of Kwame Nkrumah. We will walk through the museum and learn about his life’s work dedicated to Africa and the uniting of the African continent and Black people. The museum celebrates Nkrumah as a champion of excellence and liberation.
From this historic site we will continue to the National Museum of Ghana which serves as a treasure trove of the country’s history and culture. The museum has installations of captivating exhibition of rich heritage from the stone age to the iron age, and its struggles for independence and resilience. Batik making class. At this experience the group will immerse themselves in long standing traditions of dye making and intricate batik design making in fabric. Funeral is an integral part of our culture here in Ghana and some people bid farewell to their deceased love ones in style so we will journey to Teshie Fancy Coffin making center and see how some people are laid to rest in specialized coffins. We will return to our hotel for dinner and our second night at the Afro-Future music festival. Explore fascinating African art when we visit Artist Alliance Gallery this gallery has various authentic Ghana art pieces on display. We will return to our accommodation to prepare for our first night experience of the rebranded Afro-Future, formerly Afrochella. This gives us a unique opportunity to cerebrate African diversity, inclusiveness, thrilling and thriving millennial talent, culture and art from and within Africa. The new Afro-Future Museum provides an experience which will carry you through a nostalgic music journey into the future with authentic live performances of Afrobeat, highlife music, culture and contemporary art installations.

After waking up late and taking our breakfast we will travel to Shai Hills National Park around mid-morning to have a glimpse of baboons and witness their human liked features before entering the park to a fascinating scene of wild animals like Zebras and Antelopes We will challenge our adventurous spirit when we are endeavored to hike onto the sacred rocky caves and learn about the formal homes of the Shai people during the stone age. Continuing to Akosombo and fun on the water, we will indulge in a boat cruise and have lunch or dine at the river front view restaurant. We will take a canoe riding practice or go fishing. After breakfast we will travel to the Aburi Botanical Gardens and embrace ourselves with the beauty of nature and pose for pictures with trees centuries older than us. At this garden we will be entreat for each one of us to choose a plant of choice for our tree planting exercise to help fight the effect of climate change in our world our only home. We will have lunch at Peduase lodge hotel Today we will act as a change to save humanity by planting trees in the street of Accra to curb the effect of global warming. Today is a free day and you’re being encouraged to do personal exploration by going to the movies, shopping at the mall or the famous Oxford Street or sunbathing at the beach. Tonight, we will be awake partying at the Afro-Future New Year’s Eve {POV} party and usher in the new year. We will drive to the colonial city of Cape Coast and upon arriving we will visit UNESCO heritage, site of Elmina slave castle which is the first point of contact with the Europeans. The castle was built by the Portuguese in 1482 initially as a trading post, but it was later expanded to contain enslaved Africans and traded hands with several European powers. It was significant during the slave trade era and a lot of enslaved Africans passed through this infamous edifice before reaching the new world.

We will continue our colonial experience by visiting the Cape Coast Slave Castle built by the Swedish Africa company in 1653 and largely used by the British for their trade of goods and slaves. It is a UNESCO heritage site and our guests will be walked through the female and male dungeons, the door of no return whereas when enslaved Africans walked beyond, they never slept in their motherland again. There is installation of useful exhibition materials in the museum to help you understand what transpired half a millennial ago. Our second stop will be Kakun National Park and Canopy walk. The 7-step foot bridge built on lush green trees aging over hundred year old virgin forest will intrigue. The park covers an area of 375 square kilometers, and the forest has wild animals like bush elephants, antelopes, monkeys etc. Overnight in Cape Coast Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner
