The Purdy family had always dreamed of going to Africa, the home of our ancestors. Hearing various stories, tales, and seeing representations in media only increased our curiosity for a personal experience. Conversations with friends who had traveled to the Motherland gave us the confidence that one day, we would land on the continent.

In the winter of 2022, everything changed. It became clear that the only thing necessary to do was the same as with any other trip: book the tickets and go. Our first trip to Ghana over the holiday season was a fascinating adventure. Fortunately, we had local contacts who eased the logistics, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the experience. It was everything we dreamed about and more.

Samuel, a local guide, possessed an intimate knowledge of Ghana and an unwavering passion for his homeland. He introduced us to hidden gems, local artisans, and captivating stories that brought Ghanaian history to life. It was during this time that the seeds for Vibrant African Journeys were sown.

Upon returning to New York, the Purdys couldn't shake the conviction that they needed to share this incredible experience. We envisioned being a bridge for others. Through enthusiastic emails and calls across the ocean, a thriving partnership was born. The Purdys brought business and marketing savvy, while Samuel, on the ground in Accra, meticulously curated authentic, respectful, and impactful experiences.
